The Mobe Affiliate Journey

Customer Journey

The first thing to understand about this process is the customer’s journey. To put it quite simply, the journey we, as Mobe affiliates, need to provide starts with an ad on facebook and ends with the customer arriving at the Mobe sales page. This process is called generating leads. I am using Facebook in this example as this will be the most common way of generating these leads.

These are the steps:

  1. The customer will see your advertisement on facebook. The reasons for your customer seeing your ad is from your targeting. When you post your ad you will choose different interests and demographics to narrow your audience to the ideal people you would like to see your advertisement. If you have done a good job with your ad content and targeting, the potential customer will click the “Learn More” button on your ad.
  2. Once the potential customer has clicked the learn more button they have taken the first step in the journey. The learn more button will take the customer away from facebook and to a website or page that you have designed. This page is the beginning of your “funnel”. This page is often called the ‘Capture Page’, ‘Lead Page’ or ‘Squeeze Page’. This page will either be a landing page on your own website, or a page in clickfunnels. This page should have some broad information about the product, but not too much detail that would risk Facebook flagging your account.
  3. On this Landing page the customer will click a link which will give you the opportunity to collect their email address, name and phone number. This can either be a lead generating form directly on the page, called a 1 step opt in, or a button that they will click which will bring up a ‘pop up’ on the screen with the lead generation form, this is called a 2 step opt in. (It is very important that this page does not have any mention of Mobe or any Mobe products, and definitely no links to any part of the Mobe website or sales pages)
  4. Once the customer has filled out the lead generation form they will click the submit button in the form. This is the process of ‘Opting in’. 2 things will happen when the customer clicks this button:
    1. The customer’s details from your lead generation form will be sent to your email autoresponder
    2. The customer will be directed to the Mobe sales page
  5. Once at the Mobe sales page we do not have any control over what happens with the customer. We have completed our role in providing Mobe with the Lead.

Mobe Affiliate’s Journey

The Mobe Affiliate journey is much more complicated and requires some time in planning and setting up the different systems required to make the customer’s journey as easy and smooth flowing as possible. There is also some ‘behind the scenes’ work that is required to cement your foundation and position you as an authority in the niche. Mobe provides a lot of information to get you underway such as ‘Done for you Articles’ and ‘Done for you Emails’. The first thing we need for this kind of marketing is a Facebook fan page for running your ads. All Facebook ads need to be from a fan page. You cannot run the ads from your personal profile. You will need a website to build on and this is where your capture page will be. For the freedom and ease of adjusting the capture page from time to time I highly recommend using a themes company. Lastly you will need an email auto responder to collect the email addresses from your leads before they are sent to the Mobe website. I will now go into some specific details and procedures for each of the steps. In this example I am not going to discuss clickfunnels because they are very expensive and using this system they are not needed.

Facebook

Fanpage

Within your facebook profile you will have an option to set up your own pages, we refer to these as Fan Pages. This will be a page for the business you have set up to advertise Mobe or a personal page using your own name. I have both, but for advertising Mobe I primarily use my fan page using my name. Once created you should also add a trusted person as an admin of your page in case of difficulties in the future.

You will want to have some page likes on this fan page so that if someone looks at your page from your advert you will portray somebody with some credibility, it also helps with the facebook algorithm to have people engaging with your page organically. A good way to build the likes on your page is to use a ‘likes’ campaign. For this you will post an Ad targeting page likes and using the magic of the facebook algorithm, Facebook will put your Ad in front of people that are renowned for liking anything and everything. I used a likes campaign and built up 2500 page likes in a few days for a total of ฿1,000.

You will need to post to this page regularly to keep the engagement up and theoretically facebook will have more inclination to give you cheaper ads and put them in front of the right people.

Ads Manager

For your Facebook advertising you will need to create a Facebook Ads account. This will be attached to your personal profile and you will need to provide your credit card details. Once your account is set up, you will be able to start advertising.

You should make yourself familiar with Ads Manager and Power Editor. At the time of writing this, Ads Manager is best used for keeping track of your adverts and statistics, and Power Editor is best used for drafting and editing your ads. You can do both with each platform, but this is the most effective situation.

I’m not going to go into the specific process of posting an ad, that will be the topic for another blog post. Facebook has many instructional videos to help you get through this process.

Once you have your facebook ad the ‘Learn More’ button will link to the landing page on your website, not the homepage

Website

Domain and Hosting

Your domain name is the name of your website. Eg. yourname.com Once you have your domain name you will need Web Hosting. This is like the land that your website will be built on. There are many companies that provide hosting. I carried out a lot of research when choosing my hosting company and I found A2 Hosting. You can get to their website from this link: CLICK HERE. Once you have hosting you can then build your WordPress website.

WordPress Website

Using your hosting account you will be able to download your WordPress site and it will be live. I have written a document to help the setup process which I can link you to. Your WordPress website will need at least 3 pages to begin. The first will be a homepage, the page people will see if they go to your domain. The second will be your blog page, this is where you will post all of your blog posts. Your Mobe account gives you access to ready made blog posts for you to copy and paste into your blog. It’s important to post regular blog posts to build the authority of your website and position you as someone with knowledge in the niche that you have chosen. The third will be your landing page for your Mobe Advertising. This is where your customers will arrive at your website from your facebook ads.

Themes

Your WordPress website comes with a built in theme but the best option is to download your own customizable theme. I suggest Thrive (CLICK HERE) which comes with pre made templates for almost any page you will ever need, the service is amazing, the pages load fast and are automatically mobile responsive. Which means they will adjust to any mobile phone or tablet automatically. This is very important in this time that more and more people are using their smartphones.

For your landing page, you will set up your page to the way you prefer and then clone the page for each event you are advertising. The theme I have linked you to here make this process very simple. Your landing page will have a lead generation form to collect the email address of your customer. This form will be linked to your autoresponder to store the address. When the customer has completed the form and clicks submit they will be redirected to the Mobe sales page.

Autoresponder

There are many options when it comes to autoresponders. The 2 most common are Aweber and GetResponse. The autoresponders job is primarily to work with your WordPress website to collect the email address from your customers but they are also the foundation for sending bulk emails and newsletters to your mailing list in the future. The autoresponder will connect with your WordPress website through an API connection.
